In accordance with the recently passed legislation on November 20, 2019, New York City has introduced a new zoning system for commercial waste collection. This system, structured under Local Law 199, will establish designated waste zones throughout the city. Each zone will be serviced exclusively by a select three approved sanitation companies. Businesses will soon need to engage with designated waste and recycling service providers assigned to their specific zones.
